Software Engineering Program

In September 2015, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Computer Science for All (CS4All), an initiative that will provide CS education to every public school student over the next ten years. The Department of Education’s flagship program to meet this goal is the Software Engineering Program (SEP). SEP is a comprehensive, standards-aligned computer science and software engineering education program for grades 6 to 12. The goals of the program are: (1) to increase the number of high school graduates, particularly from traditionally underrepresented groups, who are ready to enter new and emerging high-tech career pathways, and (2) to develop students’ computational thinking and problem-solving skills in real-world contexts.

The application period for the 2016-17 school year is now closed.  Check back in January of 2017 for the launch of the SEP cohort 3 application. Sign-up to receive updates for next year’s application here: http://tinyurl.com/cs4allProgramInterests
